Lush, Rich & Distinctive ~ Lady in Red Hydrangea
McCorkle Nurseries introduces a new red beauty to the hydrangea family.
Dearing, GA McCorkle Nurseries, one of the largest wholesale nurseries in the Southeast, in partnership with the University of Georgia Research Foundation, introduces a Hydrangea macrophylla that provides interest from spring into autumn. Developed by Dr. Michael A. Dirr at the Department of Horticulture, University of Georgia, this breakthrough hydrangea is an open-pollinated seedling of Otaksa.
This distinctive new hydrangea will add to the beauty of your garden with color and style. Lacecap flowers open pinkish white and turn a lush burgundy rose as they mature. Lady in Red has rich reddish-purple fall foliage and distinctive red stems, leaf petioles and veins. A compact mounded habit, high mildew resistance, and sturdy stems make Lady in Red a special part of anyones garden.
Lady in Red will be available for a Sneak Preview Release, in limited quantities, at garden centers and nurseries throughout the southeast in the fall of 2004. Lady in Red will make its official debut in garden centers everywhere beginning in the spring of 2005. Additional information is available at www.ladyinredhydrangea.com.
